Stories

Here is an example of Brianna's growing frustration with the English language and her stubborness. The directions said to write the numbers in order so she cut a small piece of paper, wrote and r and taped it over the wr. She argued with me telling me that they spelled it wrong and it should be rite. The next picture is Katelyn's story.

The first story is Brianna's and the second is Katelyn's
The girls have enjoyed writing stories lately, especially Katelyn. They used one of the programs from Brianna's school to make the picture and then wrote a story from it. See if you can tell what it says.

Leah's food

Here is a typical day with Leah, dumping a whole box of rice on the floor. The next is of Leah eating one of the tomatoes the neighbor grew, whole.

These are groceries I took out of the bag and came back in the kitchen a minute later to find her eating them. Now if I cut up this green pepper and cucumber and serve them to her for dinner, she wouldn't touch them. She just enjoys getting into things. At least she's eating her veggies!

Homeschooling this week

Here are our M & M graphs. We did bar graphing and pie graphing using our bags of M & M's. Our bean plants are also coming along very nicely. We keep turning them away from the window to watch them find the direction of the sun again. They are getting very big.

Assortment of pictures

These I added just because I thought they were cute.

Here are some pictures from my parents visit over Labor Day. We love it when they come!! Dad is so funny or maybe cheezy is the right word and played fireman with the kids. My parents had five kids as well. I am the oldest and the youngest, Tim is in the picture below with Alex. Tim and his girlfriend Lauren stopped by on their way back up to Chicago where Tim lives.

I love homeschooling!

Homeschooling with 2 babies has really been a challenge but most days are so much fun. Here is our first plant expiriment. The beans grew roots and leaves in the paper towels. Brianna is now doing a second expiment with beans in cups in the dark, without water, and with sun and water. Kate and Sam have to do everything Brianna does which is great most of the time. They love to watch Sid the Science guy as their TV time and do the expiriments he does. Another note, one of the other blogs I am following is Diane (Heart to Heart with Diane) , the creator of Happy Phonics, and it is full of recipes, good advice, and good ideas. Thanks to my friend Erin for helping me find this blog, hers also has lots of great ideas for Catholic parents and is on my blog list as well (Growing with my Girls). Thanks to Angela Acara also with lots of great ideas. I love talking to people and stealing great ideas!

This is one of the reasons I like homeschooling so much. When we finish our lessons and they go play, they use what they have learned. We don't have any winter clothes out yet so for their trip to Antarctica they put socks on everyone's hands and sweaters on everyone, dressed in long pants, and got Leah completely ready for the trip by themselves. They each had a backpack, drove to the ocean on the bed, and completed the trip on their couch boat.
